Fireman James F. Gillick

Fireman James F. Gillick, badge #315, served in the U.S. Navy during WWI. He was appointed on 2/23/1927 and assigned on 3/1/1927 to Truck 4. On 4/17/1933, he was transferred to Engine 3. On 6/1/1933, he was transferred back to Truck 4. On 12/20/1941, Truck 4 was returning from an alarm when it collided with a tractor-trailer at McCarter Highway. F/M Gillick was seriously injured when he was thrown from the tiller seat. On 12/25/1941, he died from his injuries. He was 43 years old at the time of his death.
