Fireman Francis E. Corbitt JR

Fireman Francis E. Corbitt, Jr., badge #924, served in the U.S. Army during WWI with the 29th Division overseas. He was appointed 10/16/1919 and assigned to Engine 21. He later transferred to Engine 6. On 7/31/1946, Engine 6 was responding to an alarm when it collided with Truck 5. F/M Corbitt was impaled on Truck 5′s tiller step and seriously injured. On 8/8/1946, he died from his injuries. He was 52 years old at the time of his death.
