DC Lawrence M. Caufield

Deputy Chief Lawrence M. Caufield, badge #471, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was appointed on 3/16/1947 and was assigned to Engine 18. On 4/8/1951, he transferred to Truck 9 as D/C’s Aide. On 10/31/1954, he was promoted to Captain and was assigned to Truck 7. On 4/9/1964, he was promoted to Battalion Chief and was assigned to the 1st Battalion. On 9/2/1968, he was promoted to Deputy Chief and was assigned to Community Relations. He died in the line of duty on 3/13/1976. He was 54 years old at the time of his death.
