DC Joseph F. Doll

Deputy Chief Joseph F. Doll, Jr., badge #470, served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and later served in the U.S. Army. He was appointed on 7/1/1951 and was assigned to Engine 1. On 3/1/1959, he was promoted to Captain of Engine 10. On 6/19/1967, he was promoted to Battalion Chief and assigned as a Roving B/C. On 1/27/1970, he transferred to B/C 4. On 1/14/1976, he was promoted to Deputy Chief. He died in the line of duty on 3/17/1977. He was 49 years old at the time of his death.
