Captain Emilio L. Pinal

Captain Emilio L. Pinal, badge #621, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was appointed on 3/9/1952 and assigned to Engine 4. He transferred to Truck 2 and later to Truck 3. He was promoted to Captain on 10/11/1965 and was assigned to Community Relations. On 9/16/1972, he fell down a staircase after attempting to save occupants at a three-alarm fire. He was treated for injuries, went home, and later suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital where he died. He was 45 years old at the time of his death.
