Captain John J. Walser

MAY 3, 1939
While operating at a large brush fire in Port Newark, Captain John J. Walser, of Engine 32, suffered a massive heart attack. Despite a two-hour revival effort by members of Rescue 1, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
